CALA MILLOR

Cala Millor is a very large tourist centre in the municipality of Son Servera. Its main attraction is the extensive beach of fine white sand and its crystal clear waters, occupying much of the bay, accompanied by a promenade. This beach has been awarded 27 times with the Blue Flag of the European Community, which proves that it meets the highest standards of quality, services and environmental protection. It is a shallow and safe beach, suitable for disabled people. Part of the coast has been declared a Nature Reserve.

Before the tourist boom, Cala Millor was characterized by a large beach accompanied by a few low houses, and in which there were sand dunes and a pine grove typical of the Mallorcan coastal area. From the 1960s onwards, tourism began to grow and the first hotels were built, and to this day Cala Millor has become a large tourist centre with a large number of accommodation options, mostly located on the seafront.

It is a quality accommodation with a great complementary offer to provide a great holiday in the place, perfectly aimed at families and senior tourists.

It is a relatively new town, and like any other tourist centre in Mallorca, in winter it is very quiet and in summer the doors open and its streets, bars and restaurants fill up on the sea front, allowing you to breathe the fine sea breeze while you cool down on the terraces of any establishment.

You can walk perfectly through the centre of the town thanks to a pedestrian street that crosses it, and where you can find a large number of shops, whether clothing, jewellery or perfumery, as well as bars and restaurants.

But Cala Millor is not only sun, beach and shops. You can find large sports facilities for tennis or paddle tennis, as well as the existence of a bike lane on the beachfront for cycling, skating or just walking.

There are also cycling routes in the town, as well as many water and sea sports that you can hire directly on the beach, such as parasailing, diving, Jet Sky or going for a boat ride. And hiking trails through Na Penyal, a hill of approximately 2 km where you can enjoy the panoramic views of Cala Millor and the bay of Cala Millor.

Its location and characteristics allow for one of the star activities in the area, the balloon ride. This will allow you to fly at high altitude while enjoying the natural scenery of the island. At the end of April, the International Aerostatic Balloon Race is held, which is a very attractive event and will allow you to see more than fifty balloons from different countries that fill the bay`s sky with color.

In addition, a classical music festival takes place in Cala Millor at the end of March and a medieval market at the end of September, where there are also performances of the period, and where you can find food, local products and handicrafts.
